Album of the Week
This week I present to you Purple by Stone Temple Pilots. While discovering this album years ago thanks to my mum and dad, many of the tracks have been playing over and over in my head and I have been finding myself singing them at the bus stop.
This is their second album, following their first and equally amazing Core. Released in 1994, this album was popular among everyone in the grunge and hard-rock scene and had gifted the world with such a defining album. Scott Weiland's vocals are impeccable as always but this album really does it for me beyond anything else he's ever done (with the exception of Falling Down by Velvet Revolver).
Track Listing:
1. Meatplow
2. Vasoline
3. Lounge Fly
4. Interstate Love Song
5. Still Remains (personal favourite)
6. Pretty Penny
7. Silvergun Superman
8. Big Empty
9. Unglued
10. Army Ants
11. Kitchenware and Candybars
Please do explore the rest of STP but don't venture as far as the lineup change with Scott no longer in vocals but Chester Bennington. He takes away the original sound of STP and not in the good way.
