Album of the Week
This was meant to be for Thursday but I was busy, so here it is now. I present to you for this week's album of the week: Version 2.0 by Garbage.
If you want something that'll perk you right up and get an internal (or external) party started, look no further. Unlike the rest of the Garbage albums, this one is a little less on the grunge/ alternative side. Released in 1998, this album was the perfect ending to a millennia of rock and roll that further led other artists into the more clubby. dance style songs for the 00s.
With the initial release of this album, it got off to a slow start critically but as the weeks went by, it was beginning to make an appearance on the charts and earning number ones in France, New Zealand, Scotland and the UK's independent albums charts.
This album completely reeks of girl power and emotion that has been channeled in the best possible way. While it isn't on my top 10 for most favourite albums ever (which would be a struggle to put down) it would definitely be in my top 100.
It isn't for everyone but for those who would like a reason to dance, sing along and have a personal party with a population of one or a few friends, go give this one a shot.
