Album of the Week

For this week, I'd love to introduce you all to a fun-loving, punk/ new-wave band called Adam and the Ants with their album Kings of the Wild Frontier.

Now, this album isn't for everyone and I really don't know anyone my age (or younger, aside from my brother) who knows of these guys. But if you'd like to hop on a nostalgia train and see what music was like during the later 1970s/ early 1980s, this is where you need to go.

Released in 1980, Kings of the Wild Frontier was the second studio album released by the band but also a defining one, reaching no.1 on the UK album charts and having 3 singles which all made it into the top 5 of the UK and Australian charts.

Obviously this album is showing its age and you might cringe a little or laugh, but that's the sole purpose of this album. It really is a fun one and at least deserves an open ear and open mind. Adam Ant is definitely someone who keeps the 80s party alive, so please keep that in mind the next time you all have a throwback party!

I really only found out who Adam and the Ants were thanks to my parents and sometimes when they play his music just for fun I'll sit on the couch and laugh because it is pretty funny but they're a pretty cool band that I discovered last year and got me through the rest of my final year with high spirits. If you give it a listen, please tell me what you think!

*Hoping to see him in October this year!
