Peep Show: Season 2 Review

So this will be a shorter review, just like the length of all Peep Show episodes and seasons...short. That's not always a bad thing but you really do expect more from it. I had people talking this show up so much whenever I asked about it, so I really was expecting it to be bloody hilarious but I was disappointed when it created only a small exhaling motion from within my nostrils.

I can definitely say that season 2 was better than season 1, allowing me to have a rare moment of sound that emerged from within. A simple "ha."

I can tell you that it really isn't the performances that are the issue, because Robert Webb and David Mitchell are classic. I do understand dry humour and sarcasm but at some points it didn't feel all that necessary. Maybe the writers just need some better and more fitting material.

This season didn't leave me entirely unimpressed because there were moments where I felt that I was beginning to adjust to the show and find myself smiling and it is definitely getting there, so I'm hoping that the next season will be successful in keeping my laughing constant and avoiding the occasional 'just smiling' thing.

I really really want to like this show, because it has most aspects there of what a good comedy show should have. All it needs now is to redeem itself.

Cons: I've given half and half between this entire review on good and bad things but I think the major issue that I have with this show is the general length of the episodes and seasons. Its not too long, but short instead. Is 6 episodes really enough to get to know the characters and enough time to create a laugh? Perhaps the short length was made for the idea that the show could lose ratings if things were to drag on. I've no clue, but I think that it could have possibly benefited from a few longer episodes or seasons.

Here's to season 3, hope it's good and gives me a chance to write a better review!

Score: 6/10.
