Peep Show: (Full) Series Review
Oopsies, I binged. Not a problem though, on things with a less serious and intense nature, you can usually binge on and I guess that's what I did here.
So since I last reviewed, this show did get better or maybe I grew accustomed to it, either way I stuck with the show until the end and even pulled out a few memorable moments and quotes. There were a few more times that allowed me to laugh beyond my nostrils or allow me to crack a smile but otherwise, I just tuned in for the oddly satisfying entertainment it provided.
Season 3: I actually really didn't like this season at all. Some people might say, "it's the same as every other season in retrospect" but it really isn't. It was boring, I didn't laugh and was left thoroughly disappointed. Thankfully it never got to that point for the rest of the series.
Season 4-8: Got better and actually had moments where I laughed and smiled. I'm not going to say that I didn't find this show uninteresting because that's a lie. It was interesting, but the kind where you keep watching because it is entertaining. Also, you do get to see a lot of physical changes and character progression from season one.
Season 9: I cried at the end. Why? I don't really know. I think it was because I was so invested in watching this show every day late at night and then BAM! Roll the end credits and the show's over. Obviously if it had continued any longer, there would be a chance that I would have lost some interest but I just didn't process that it was over.
I like David Mitchell and Robert Webb and believe that they are funny, even if that meant I didn't get to see their best material throughout this show but I don't ever regret watching it and am glad that I did. This review was pretty hard for me to do because there are a lot of conflicting interests with this show and it's difficult to explain that feeling of "not overly interested but oddly satisfying entertainment."
I guess all I can say now is sit in the bath and have a magnum...while watching this show.
Score: 6/10.
