Sorry it's taken me a little while longer to have this review up. I really am a restless soul at this stage and have found it hard to stay engaged and invested for long periods of time. I'm also finding it increasingly hard to find shows that I can actively tune into with my full attention and not get bored after the first or second season.
Anyway, as season three continues events for the second part of 1970, it becomes more important as more of a political statement towards the Vietnam War and criminal activities rather than the concept of forced adoptions and family ties.
The second half of this season was more engaging and provided something a little different. The Vietnam War has obviously been the token background topic/ underlying issue but was made more prominent towards the end. By the wrap up, a few character stories were closed and saw new ones entering for the final season. I'm not really sure what else this show has left to offer. It seemed to start itself off with pacifism, the end of an era and a central focus on issues affecting women (pregnancy, forced adoption, motherly upbringing). I can't say that I'm particularly hyped up about this show but it offers average entertainment more or less.
Score: 5.5/10.
